Geographical Considerations

In Architecture, we almost consider everything. The users, the climate conditions, the space, the circulation, the orientation and many many more. The geographical condition of a desired site location is also one of those things we need to consider to have a better outcome of our proposed project.

Ground form and soil should be really considered because this is where we are going to excavate as well as it is the very foundation of our building that is to be constructed. It is needed to be checked and observed carefully if the building is suitable and bearable by the soil and the ground. Some soil may be flat or has a slope which will be also considered before building up a structure. Some may not bear with the materials that we will use resulting to a not sustainable and sturdy type of structure that might went down after.

The vegetation, natural and existing environments, water resources and landscape also has to do with the geographical consideration. Some desired areas where we are about to construct has a bunch of trees which can be an obstruction. Yes you can cut it out and get rid of it but you might not know that it can be illegal. You don't cut trees just because you want to that's why you need to know first what are the rules and guidelines about this. But landscape can increase the aesthetic value of the site

Be careful with choosing a site because there are natural and existing environments that can be affected when you build a structure that will not give any good results. Site orientation is also a part of good planning. You should know where the sun rises and sets because it has to do with the placement of spaces inisde a building to be more efficient for the users.

Also, it is much better if our finished building will be an environment friendly one. It is really a must to consider everything well and carefully plan it so that it won't came up to a bigger problem afterwards.
