First Day
First Day
I guess all of us already know of what happens on the first day of classes. This may look so mainstream but I will still tell of what happened on my first day of classes. So basically I woke up, got out from the bed which I can say that it is the most magnetic thing in the world. Yes. I'm such a sleepy head and I know how ironic it is that the course I chose for college is Architecture where in fact this is what they call a sleepless course. Going back, I took a shower, got my eyebrows done same with putting on my lip tint. It's a girl thing. We can't go out without those makeups. Then, I bid good bye to my parents and finally went off wishing that day will be all good. I always spare 2 hours before the class starts for my travelling time. My house is far from my school. I swear. But I can manage, since I'm already doing this for almost 3 years since I entered college, so yeah. I thought this is going to be a typical day until our jeepney stopped and I didn't thought that I'll be encountering again that not so heavy traffic in our area. It is not even in a rush hour! I looked at my watch and from that moment I knew I'm gonna be late for my Architectural Design class.
As I enter the classroom, our professor was already there and I observed that everyone in the class are listening carefully so I immediately sat beside my friends. It was so hot and I'm sweating and thirsty as well because I just rushed going there. Upon listening also to our professor while he is talking in front, I honestly don't understand some because he is already in the middle of discussion plus I can still feel the hotness inside our room. Good thing I have friends who are there earlier than me. They got to take down notes about the stuff we need to do for that subject and I borrowed their notes just to see what are the things we need to comply for the subject and copied it. After that, we ate lunch and our professor already gave us our first activity.
The activity is we need to sketch and redesign a facade of a certain building that we chose on the internet. Whatever design or style we want just sketch it. It's all up to us. I seriously had a hard time thinking of what will I change that will still fit for the building I was going to redesign. I don't know if what I did was better or much worse. But then again, I'm happy that somehow I finished the activity and I think it went well. I also learned that as an architect you just don't design such thing on a building. Just because it looks kinda cute, convenient or what, you're going to put it there. No. Like what our professor told us, everything has a reason. It is changed because of a particular purpose and reason. After that, we had a little more discussion about the activity and other stuff then he dismissed the class. I went home raining plus it's already in a rush hour so I gotta deal with the heavy traffic again. And that sums up my first day.
